Platform purpose, background and overview

Saving time and effort delivering mentoring matches since 2015!

Mentoring programs make a huge positive impact on people’s lives. Managing an effective mentoring program requires a lot of effort reviewing resumes and CV’s and making matches. This takes time away from the more important work of building industry alliances, talking with everyone and solving problems. That’s where MentorEase is able to assist.

Instead of using Excel to make matches and review applications, MentorEase provides a mini site for your program where mentors and mentees match on their own or with the help of our unique algorithm.

Mentors and mentees fill our customized forms and a shortlist of the best matches are created. The mentees select mentors (or they are admin matched) and wait for approvals. As for the program administrator, they login and watch participants sign up and get matched with little effort. Once matches are completed, MentorEase has simple tools such as scheduling, checklists, goal setting, note taking and community forum tools for participants – alongside reporting and analytics for the administrator.

* Automated Email Messages – We customize the outgoing emails with your brand and style, messages.

* Mentorship Success Tracking – There is a basic tool for feedback surveys or we can connect to other survey tools.

Background

MentorEase is a product of Giant Step Inc., a digital media company in Toronto, Canada.

An earlier version of the software was called Menteer.

Menteer was created in 2015 by the Career Skills Incubator with funding from the Canadian Internet Registration Association (CIRA), launched a public mentoring site at http://menteer.ca and published the software as an open-source project at https://github.com/CareersSkillsIncubator/menteer

In 2016 the Career Skills Incubator partnered with Giant Step for the development of custom client implementations of Menteer.

In 2017 all Menteer projects were transferred to Giant Step for on-going maintenance and development of new client implementations.
